Delay In Passport
Complaint:
Sir,
While being in Indian Air Force I applied for the Indian Passport File Ref number B011146 dated 27 Nov 2006 through proper channel (after acquiring NOC From Indian Air Force). Ever since I applied for the passport I have been enquiring about the status of the passport but there has been no answers from the RPO Lucknow office. The telephone numbers (0522-2287130) provided on the official site is rarely being attended and on being getting lucky to converse with the authorities they don't reply properly. I spoke to Mr.Santosh he first said only Mr. Yadav will tell you about the latest passport status. When I called on again I was told to call after ten minutes as they were doing some other job. When I called in the evening he said you enquire via letter from Mr. Zahur H. Zaidi to know the exact cause of the problem. For this I send a Fax to know the status of my Passport by there is no reply.What do I have to do to get my passport issued ?

Solution:
Hello,
You had applied in 2006. As of now you did not receive your passport.
1. Write a request letter to the RPO quoting your file number and submit the same at RPO, General Enquiry section. They will let you the status of your application. Don't forget to get it signed by the authority on the form. Keep the form with you for future purpose.
2. Its morethan one year. So the file would have been closed.
3. Apply for fresh passport quoting your earlier file number. If you don't provid your old file number, in a week or two after applying for fresh passport, they would send Rs 5000/- penality order from RPO. So kindly mention your old file number(if you have) while applying for new passport.

Police Report is incomplete and the case is being examined
If your passport application status is "Police Report is incomplete and the case is being examined"
Reason: Police verification report which was submitted by the verification officer would be incomplete.
What you should do: Fill Personal Particular form (2 sets) and request letter quoting your file number and submitt it at passport office general enquiry.
In a week or two, the police man will come for verification and submitt all the documents needed. Don't forget to collect the Police Verification File number or atleat his contact number.
